The Hotel
• The Cottage in the Wood Malvern is not really a cottage in the wood – it is a hotel on the hill! Set high above Malvern in eight acres of woodland, this unique hotel and restaurant offers a desirable mix of laid-back elegance, incredible food and intuitive service in a naturally dramatic space.
• The 32-bedroom hotel comprises of The Main House, with nine bedrooms, Beech Cottage with four bedrooms, and the Coach House with 19 bedrooms.
• The hotel has been exquisitely designed throughout during a three-phase refurbishment project led by owners Nick and Julia Davies, who purchased the hotel in 2015.
• Downstairs rooms in the Coach House are dog-friendly, with outdoor terraces to ensure four-legged friends can get some fresh air.
• Family rooms are available on request with different configurations to suit family groups, and there is lots of space for little ones to run around.
• The hotel’s three AA+ Rosette 1919 Restaurant, Bar and Terrace is led by head chef, Rob Mason, who joined the hotel in November 2020. • Sociable, friendly and relaxed, the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day, with a delicious award-winning menu developed by Rob and his team using top quality, local and seasonal produce.
• A delicious lunch snack menu is available daily between 3pm and 5pm for light bites in the lounge, or enjoy a sit-down meal in 1919 Restaurant with some lunchtime favourites, including pan roasted cod loin and slow braised blade of beef.
• All produce is sourced locally through independent and family-owned suppliers, including Cotteswold Dairy and DT Waller & Sons butchers.
• A selection of over 100 wines includes varieties from local Worcestershire vineyards as well as fine wine classics at reasonable prices, and we love to suggest wine pairings to complement the menu.
• Creative cocktails are mixed to order, inspired by the surrounding area and seasonal ingredients – some even offer unique twists on traditional tipples.
• Our very special Afternoon Tea is served with homemade sandwiches, sweet treats, scones and french pastries. Extra bubbles can be added with a glass of premium Champagne.
