At The Cottage in the Wood Hotel in Malvern, each room tells its own story, with distinctive features and quirky art, natural and indulgent Bramley toiletries, fresh cookies on arrival and, of course huge, comfy beds you want to dive into.
Sleep
You’re spoilt for choice when choosing one of our 32 bedrooms, which are all original and memorable in their own way. Our hotel is set within seven acres of woodland, high in the Malvern Hills, and many of our rooms have sweeping and dramatic views of the Severn Valley, Vale of Evesham and the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. Stay, dine and relax in the Main House, or take a short stroll across the hotel grounds to the charming Beech Cottage or The Coach House, where many of the rooms have patios to enjoy the stunning views.
The Main House welcomes you with elegance and style, with nine bespoke bedrooms in the original manor house, all offering different quirks and outlooks, modern and antique furniture and many rooms with stunning views of the Severn Valley.

The Coach House leads our hotel’s sustainability credentials with savvy environmentally friendly initiatives, saving energy and promoting clean air for a better night’s sleep. Spacious, bright and stylish, many of the rooms open up to private terraces with sweeping views of the countryside beyond.

Room Types
At The Cottage in the Wood Hotel in Malvern you can find the space that is right for you – whether you are looking for a romantic getaway for two, a family room with space to tumble or a pet-friendly getaway with a private terrace and sweeping views. All our bedrooms are ensuite, with indulgent and natural Bramley toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk in the in-room fridge and you’ll get freshly baked cookies on arrival. Yum!
Best Rooms
Our Best Rooms are just that – The Best. The Cottage in the Wood Hotel in Malvern offers you all the good stuff – front facing windows with sweeping views, extra space, Super King size beds and stylish design. The bathrooms are extra spacious and have both walk-in showers and roll top baths, and each room has a working vintage record player with a unique selection of music.
Great Rooms
Our Great Rooms are big, bright and have great views of the Severn Valley. King size beds can be split into Twins if you prefer, and all the rooms have spacious bathrooms with bath-over-shower or walk-in showers. Some rooms have patios with outside seating or a small balcony.
Very Good Rooms
Very good Rooms are very spacious and bright, with King Size beds that can also be split if you prefer Twin accommodation. Great for families or those looking for more space, the rooms either overlook the hotel grounds or have peaceful woodland views, and some have patios with outdoor seating.
Classic Rooms
Size is not everything! Classic rooms are slightly smaller, but still pack a punch. King or Queen Size beds, convenient bathrooms with walk-in showers and all the little touches to make your stay extra special are included in a slightly smaller space.
Cosy Rooms
Cosy by name and cosy by nature! Our Cosy Rooms are snug and comfy, with Queen or Small Double Beds. Quirky design and bold colours make these rooms a great option for those looking for the good stuff on a smaller scale! Cosy Rooms overlook the back of the hotel, so please note they don’t offer the sweeping views of some of our other room types.
Group Accommodation
The newest additions to The Cottage in the Wood are the stunning Holywell Chapel and The Studio; two luxury buildings, each available to book as a perfect retreat for families and groups.
Nestled amongst the woods with panoramic views across the Severn Valley, the Chapel and Studio sit alongside our main building and are only a short stroll to our restaurant and bar via a private pathway. A gateway leads directly out onto the Malvern Hills, offering nine miles of walking paths through rolling hills and woodland.
Pet Friendly
We love animals at The Cottage in the Wood Malvern and our location really is a haven for those wanting to go for long walks and spend time in nature. If you want to bring your pet with you when you visit, please let us know at time of booking so we can allocate one of our pet friendly rooms. A pet blanket and treat will await your pet on arrival. Please note that pets are not allowed in The Main House, including Reception, Restaurant or Lounge Bar for the benefit of guests with allergies. You can enjoy a meal with your pet outside or on our covered, heated Terrace.
Family Friendly
We welcome families with children of all ages and have some particularly spacious rooms perfect for those travelling with younger guests. Please inform us at time of booking if you are travelling with babies or children so we can make the necessary arrangements both for sleeping and dining. We have high chairs, cots and comfortable children’s beds available on request.
Accessibility
Being located on the top of a hill makes us a great location for everyone, with sweeping views and nature on our doorstep. We pride ourselves on being very accessible. Our 1919 Restaurant, reception area and toilet facilities are all fully accessible. Please note that there is one step to get into the Lounge Bar, and access is easily arranged with a removable ramp always on hand. We also have one dedicated, fully accessible bedroom with designated parking and wide access shower. All our ground floor rooms in the Coach House are accessible without stairs.

Special business rates are available for our regular business guests, and we offer quick, quiet and efficient service to make sure your business stay is as smooth as possible.
Breakfast at The Cottage in the Wood Hotel & Restaurant
Breakfast is very special at The Cottage in the Wood Malvern. All our guests agree it is full of the good stuff – a feast for the senses, served in our gorgeous dining room flooded with light, with windows showcasing the sweeping view. Wholesome, fresh and abundant, you can break the fast with bottomless tea and coffee, warm bread, fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereals, locally sourced bacon and sausages and eggs laid by local hens – made to order just the way you like them.
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and lactose free products and variations available, please ask for details at time of booking.
Breakfast is not just for our hotel guests – everyone is welcome. Early morning meetings, catch up with friends or as a special treat for yourself on a weekday morning! £20 for adults and £10 children under 12.
Our all-day café menu or sumptuous dinner menu is also available at our 1919 Restaurant.
