The Malvern Hills in the winter time is known for its many great activities, events and none other than the Malvern Winter Glow festival. Hosted at the three counties showground, it’s just 4 minutes driving from the Cottage in The Woods Hotel. In fact, you can view the showgrounds from the top of our hill. There has never been a better reason to come and stay a night or two with us. If you’re up for a brisk walk, the grounds are just under a 25 minute walk from the cottage. If you don’t have a night, you can still enjoy an afternoon tea to warm up after the winter activities! Or if you fancy a meal in one of the nicest restaurants in Malvern, join us at the 1919 restaurant.
This year the Malvern Winter Glow consists of 4 main winter activities. There’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy. We decided to create the ultimate guide to experiencing the Malvern Winter Glow this year.
For the untrained skaters out there, this is a great opportunity to learn a new skill on one of the region’s largest skating rinks. The rink will be open from the 12th of November to the 9th of January. On certain dates you’ll be able to glide across the ice while listening to live music. After hitting the ice, you’ll be just about ready to sit down and enjoy a meal at our restaurant in Malvern.
The Santa Experience entails a journey on the Arctic Express land train, visiting the Elves workshop and meeting Santa with personalised grotto experiences. This experience will be running from December 4th to December 24th.
The perfect excuse to get your steps up in anticipation of dining at the 1919 restaurant in Malvern. While walking through the trail you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views and lighting. This will be running from the 4th of December to the 2nd of January.
We cannot confirm that you’ll have a view of the Cottage in the Woods Hotel but we still recommend giving it a try as there’s plenty of other great sights to take in. Enjoy this 120ft ride from the 4th of December to the 2nd of January.
